A small, simple and charming construction, work first began on the church in 1827 with the official inauguration taking place on 15^th August, 1838. Up until that point, Cala de Sant Vicent had had to deal with a number of issues- firstly, the fact that its location was too far from any other church in the municipality and secondly, that it had too few inhabitants to assume to task of building a new church. For these reasons, the building of the Church of Sant Vicent took rather longer than first envisioned.

The church itself is situated very close to the tourist zone of Cala de Sant Vicent, an expansive and tranquil length of beach with a number of excellent fish restaurants conveniently placed within walking distance.
